The Witcher Season 3 Coming Next Summer
Netflix has confirmed that the third season of The Witcher will arrive in Summer 2023.
Announced at the streamer's Tudum event, we didn't get a precise release date, but we did get a look at a new teaser image. It shows a shattering Wolf medallion (symbolizing Geralt of Rivia's School of the Wolf), alongside a swallow, the symbol of his adopted daughter, Ciri.

Interestingly, we also saw wolf and bird symbols on the teaser art for spin-off Witcher: Blood Origin earlier in the show. It's possible that the prequel series (which arrives in December) will connect more closely than expected to Season 3 next year. Of course, you'd expect some connection, but this feels quite overt, considering the new show is set more than a millennia before Season 3.
TUDUM also gave us a behind-the-scenes look at Season 3, and we got a few words from Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) and Freya Allan (Ciri). While there weren't any huge plot details shared, Chalotra did tease that she had just come from filming a scene where "Yennefer and Ciri go head to head... they've got a lot to learn from each other."
Season 3's plot summary is: "As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri's magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl's untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line—or risk losing each other forever."
Alongside Henry Cavill's Geralt, Anya Chalotra's Yennefer, and Freya Allan's Ciri, we know that four new cast members will join this season: Meng’er Zhang (Shang-Chi) will play Milva, an archer and huntress; Robbie Amell (Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City) is elf guerrilla leader Gallatin; Hugh Skinner (Fleabag) will play Prince Radovid, a royal playboy; and Christelle Elwin (Bloods) will play Mistle, a member of a gang called The Rats.
